My exposure to immigration law began many years ago before I even became a lawyer. In the early 1990’s I was a young, Spanish television News Reporter with Telemundo/CNN in New York City when I first encountered the harsh reality faced by some immigrants. I had reported and broadcasted stories about the human labor experience in the “sweat shops” of Manhattan, where hundreds of migrants from Mexico, Central America, and other parts of the world were employed. My journalist work illustrated not only the danger, but also the state of the servitude and the dehumanizing working conditions of documented and undocumented persons alike. As a result of these revelations, local, state, and federal agencies fined employers, restored dignity to the migrant workers, and improved safety and labor conditions for all the businesses involved.

However, back then, I knew I wanted to do more than just report a story. I wanted to be part of the story myself in order to have a more positive impact in the immigrant community. In 1994, attended law school; in 1998 was admitted as an attorney and counselor at law in Puerto Rico. In 2005,  went on to gain admission to the Supreme Court of the United States and in 2006, gained admission to the Federal Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit with jurisdiction over Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. I have been practicing immigration law exclusively since 2000 and am authorized to practice in every state of the union representing families, individuals, and companies before the immigration service, the U.S. Department of Labor, Consular Processing, and Immigration Court.

With over 20 years in the trenches, as a veteran immigration attorney, it is my pleasure to help immigrants develop a plan.  Allow me  to guide you through the process and explain the rules. Let me help you by  engaging in the best way forward and prepare for contingencies.
